IC System’s Kristina Gursky Honored with the 2025 AAHAM National President’s Award

Watching a friend and colleague be recognized for their incredible work is a rare privilege — and that’s exactly what I experienced in Baltimore at the 2025 AAHAM Annual National Conference.

This year, Kristina Gursky, CRCR, CRCP, Vice President of Healthcare Strategy at IC System, received the prestigious AAHAM National President’s Award, recognizing her leadership, advocacy, and unwavering dedication to advancing the healthcare revenue cycle industry.

A Career Built on Leadership and Advocacy
From her early days in a hospital call center to her current role leading healthcare strategy at IC System, Kristina’s career reflects a remarkable evolution driven by curiosity, grit, and a passion for improvement. Since joining IC System in 2005, she has helped healthcare organizations strengthen revenue performance, streamline operations, and build better patient experiences.

Kristina Reflects on Her Career and AAHAM
Kristina shared her thoughts on receiving the award:
“Being named this year’s President’s Award honoree was a surprising and humbling moment! AAHAM gave me the tools early in my career to find my path in healthcare revenue cycle, and I’ve long admired leaders who used their platforms to mentor others entering the industry.

Those opportunities shaped me into the leader I am today at IC System. From networking at the 2004 AAHAM ANI, where I met an early mentor who later recruited me to IC System, to having a voice in legislative advocacy, AAHAM has been a cornerstone of my career.

Giving back through leadership roles feels like passing the torch to the next generation, just as others did for me. While I never pursued recognition, this award reinforces my commitment to advance AAHAM’s mission and continue supporting excellence in revenue cycle leadership — all while forming incredible professional and personal friendships along the way.”

Beyond her role at IC System, Kristina has been a dedicated leader within AAHAM, currently serving as National Government Relations Chair. She’s also been a vital part of the Minnesota Gopher Chapter, where she’s served as Treasurer, Vice President, and President — even stepping up to complete a chapter term when needed.

Life Beyond Work

Kristina resides in Minnesota with her partner, Donny. She’s a proud mom of three and grandmother of two. When she’s not driving healthcare strategy or championing advocacy, you can often find her at a Brandi Carlile concert — fully immersed in the music and energy she loves.

Watching Kristina receive the 2025 AAHAM National President’s Award was truly unforgettable. It was a proud moment for IC System, and on a personal level, I’m especially proud to call her a friend.
