A Bold Vision from Day One

When I joined IC System in the spring of 2017, I was handed a copy of the company’s strategic plan. As I read through it, one goal caught my eye: “Best place to work designation.” I remember thinking, how cool is that? A company bold enough to put a cultural aspiration in writing and share it with every employee. That moment stuck with me.

Fast forward to 2025, and IC System has just been named a Minneapolis Star Tribune Top 200 Workplace for the ninth year in a row. This award, driven entirely by employee feedback, isn’t just a badge of honor—it’s proof that we’re living up to that bold goal I read about years ago.

This recognition places IC System among Minnesota’s best midsize employers—a testament to a culture where people feel valued, supported, and proud of their work. After nine straight years on this list, I’m in awe of how we’ve turned a one-time goal into a lasting legacy.

Why It Matters

Why does this award matter? Because it’s a reflection of what our employees say about working here. The Star Tribune’s survey, run by Energage, asks about the stuff that really counts: Do you trust your leaders? Can you grow here? Do you feel like you belong? When our team says “yes,” it tells me we’re doing something right. It’s about the little things—like a manager who listens or a coworker who has your back—that make IC System feel like more than just a job.

A Consistent Legacy

Since earning our first Top Workplace nod in 2017, IC System hasn’t missed a year. From the Top 150 list in 2018–2020 to the expanded Top 175 in 2021 and Top 200 since 2022, this nine-year streak shows our team’s unwavering commitment to making this a great place to work.

Celebrating Together

On June 18, 2025, we celebrated this milestone at our Vadnais Heights and Onalaska offices. In Vadnais Heights, the smell of Red Cow burgers filled the air as our leadership team dished out lunch, laughing and chatting with everyone. Onalaska joined the fun with their own catered spread, connecting both locations in a shared moment of pride.
