I.C. SYSTEM'S ONLINE SECURITY OVERVIEW
Our focus - Safety and Security
I.C. System is pleased to offer electronic debt submittal over the Internet and is committed to making sure that your online information is always safe and secure. We strive to protect your online information by using the security built into your browser in combination with our own security infrastructure.
Our system technology brings together a combination of security measures to protect data, you, and I.C. System. Our system features password-controlled system entry, a VeriSign-issued Digital ID for I.C. System's server, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for data encryption, and a firewall to regulate the inflow and outflow of server traffic.
icsystem.com is a VeriSign Secure Site
We know that Security is a primary concern of our online customers. That's why we have registered our secure Web site with VeriSign. VeriSign ensures the authenticity of our Web site. We encourage you to "click" at any time on the VeriSign icon listed in the footer of each page on our site. This will enable you to verify that the information is consistent with our Web site address. Once you have verified that the information is correct, you may submit sensitive data with the assurance that:
- This site has a VeriSign Secure Server ID.
- VeriSign has verified the organizational name and that I.C. System has the proof of right to use it.
- This site legitimately runs under the auspices of I.C. System.
- All information sent to this site, if in an SSL session, is encrypted, protecting against disclosure to third parties.
Secure Access and Verification of User Authenticity
To begin a session with our online application, you must enter a unique User ID and Password. Upon successful login, the Digital ID from VeriSign authenticates your identity and a secure socket layer connection is established between you and I.C. System.
Secure Data Transfer
Once the server session is established, the user and the server are in a secure environment. Because the server has been certified as a 128-bit secure server by VeriSign, data traveling between the user and the server is encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. With SSL, data that travels between I.C. System and you is encrypted and can only be decrypted with the public and private key pair. Our server issues a public key to your browser and creates a temporary private key. These two keys are the only combination possible for that session. When the session is complete, the keys expire.
Timer
Our online application has a built-in timer that will terminate your session if you are not actively using the system.
Your Browser's Security
We require the use of a secure browser with 128-bit encryption to access account information and perform transactions. Microsoft(r) Internet Explorer is a secure browser. However, the 128-bit encryption is an optional feature and may not be available outside of the United States and Canada.
Since 128-bit encryption is optional for the Microsoft browser, you should check your browser for its encryption level. You may check to determine if your browser has 128-bit encryption by clicking on "Help" and "About" in your browser's menu.
If your browser does not meet the 128-bit encryption security requirements of I.C. System, click here to download an upgraded browser.
Remember that once you've downloaded the proper browser, you must install it on your computer. Follow the browser manufacturer's instructions that appear on your screen.
Secure browsers employ secure sockets layer (SSL) technology to communicate with servers. This technology encrypts - or scrambles - your account information so it's virtually impossible for anyone other than I.C. System to read it.
You can identify that your online information is encrypted in Explorer if you see a lock appear during an encrypted session.
